An anticyclone still extends across the Dominion, but slight depressions have been passing both to the north and south. Consequent y winds have been rather variable and mostly light to moderate, but northerlles predominated yesterday in and south of Cook Strait. ■ Scatr tered rain has fallen Bince last night in tho far north and south, but otherwise the weather has continued to be flne and temperatures generally mild.
