THE WAIRARAPA MEETING

MASTERTON, This Day.

The annual sports of the Wairarapa Hitfh School were held on tho school grounds yesterday before a large attendance of parents, friends, and old pupils. The boys' senior championship was won by B. R. McPherson, 27 points, with F. Long, 19 points, run-ner-up W. J. Peterson, 13 points, was in third place. The junior championship went to M. Munn, who, with 29 points, was 10 points clear of fa. Blatter, the runner-up. B. Stewart, 7 points/was third. L. Kilgour secured the girls' senior championship, scoring 21 points. E. Barnes, 17 points, and O. Brcnkley, I points, were second and third respectively. Tho junior championship was Avon by E. Madsen with 18 points. J. Wilton, 12 points, was runner-up, and N. Spiel's, 8 points, filled third place. . In the boys'events two records went by the board. B. MePhersori won the senior half-mile in 2min 10 l-ssec, which was 1 3-ssoc better than the record established in 1931 by \V. R. Welch. TP. Long broke the discus record established in 1032 by A. McWhinnie. Long's throw of lQOft 3in was l|in further than McWhinnic's.
