RIVERS STILL RISING

SYDNEY, October 26. Many residents have boon driven from their homes at Bathursb by flood waters. The town faces an alarming position. The Maequarrio River is still rising dangerously. The gasworks are flooded, and failure of the gas supply is expected. Large numbers of stock have been drowned and crops ruined. Water- entered the townships or! Orange^ Parkes, mid Gumlagai. The Murrumbidgee River at Wagga is expected to overflow its banks at any minute, and the inhabitants have evacuated homes within the danger zone. Farm lands at Tumut are under water, and people are being rescued by boats.
