KILBIRNIE CLUB
The growtft- of the Kilbirnie Amateur Wrestling and Sports Club since its inauguration is 2'ei'erred io in the first annual report to be presented at the general meeting on November 1, which states that the club was started with a membership of twelve, but the original I hall became too small to accommodate the increasing membership. Wrestling tournaments which were financially successful provided the funds for the committee to secure the present gymnasium. At this time the committee was fortunate in securing .Mr. Leah as patron and Mr. McDermott as president, and these two men did a great deal towards assisting and advising the committee. The financial position o£ the club is good, but the suggestion is made to the incoming committee that a gymnasium fund be established with a view to securing for the club in the near future a gymnasium of its own. During the year several wrestling and vaudeville entertainments were held, and each waa a financial success* Members of the club also assisted at other tournaments. Appreciation is expressed of the work of the social committee. " The following were the winners of the various club championships:—Heavyweight, S. McDonald; lightweight, Hancock; welterweight, Minnox; paperweight, Mulholkind; flyweight, A. McDonald.
