GIFT EVENING

A HAPPY FUNCTION

A pleasant evening was given In tlio Jewish Club Rooms by Mrs. E. Y. Benson in honour of Miss Vora Boesley, who is to be married at the end of the month to Mr. Arthur Haley, of Wellington. The rooms were decorated very brightly for the occasion. Mrs. Benson received the guests in a gown of. black satin . with touches of shell pink. Misa Boesley was tho recipient of some very beautiful presents. Mr. Arthur Haley sang in fine spirit, and received great applause, and Mr. Maurice Cachemaillo and Mr. Eric Harrison also, received much appreciation, and Mr. Jan Webster pleased all with whistling items. Dolores and Fred Harriss, pupils of Miss M. Vause, gave sonic clover exhibitions of tap dancing. A. number of members of tho Wellington ■•■ Operatic Society wore present, amongst whom were Mr. and Mrs. E. Y. Benson, Miss Neizi Zeinba, Miss Cynthia Burge, Miss Bobbie Griffin, Miss Aileen Bacon. Miss Gwen Jones, Miss Barbara Syme, Miss Betty Kofoed, Miss Joy Kofoed, Mr. Erie Harrison, Mr. Lan Webster, Mr. Cleff Summervill'e, Mr. W, Corbett,'Mr. Lan Calder, Mr. Maurice Gaehcffiaiile, Mr. Arthur Haley. Others present wore Mr. and Mrs,' Boe'slby, ■ [Miss '.Phyllis Oliver, Mr. and.Mrs. Arthur Jeffs, Mr. and Mrs. Harris,' Mr. and Mrs.- M. Banks, Miss 8. Baker,- Miss. M. Nicol; Miss Rita Hendry, Mr. and' Mrs. Roy Haley, Miss Jean Buck, Mr. and" Mrs. Jack Haley, Mr. and Mrs. 0 'Neil, Miss Muriel Michaelson, Mr. Prank Hayes: Towns, Mr. W. Sutherland, Mr. C. Hawkins, Mr. Ken Jeffs, Mr. Eric Jeffs, Mr. N. Banks, Mr. E. P. ' Smith,, Mr. 0. Georgeson. Mr. Arthur Jeffs' made an excellent. M.C., and dancing and gamos were much enjoyed by the guests; bringing to. a close a very pleasant evening.
