MEDICAL ADVICE FOR SHIPS

As the result of action taken by the New Zealand Government, in line with Governments in. most overseas countries, medical advice is now obtainablo from New Zealand coast, stations by ships of all nationalities. This new venture will doubtless be of great value to all vessels trading in these parts.

Eadio telegrams requesting medical advice should state briefly and clearly the symptoms of the illness of the person afflicted and contain a brief description of the medical chest carried on the ship. Such telegrams should be drawn up in the English language, signed by the master of• the ship, and addressed "Radio Medical," followed by the name of the coast station. - In very urgent cases the urgency signal (XXX) may be used in order to ensure priority over all other communications with the exception of those relating to SOS calls. No charge will bo made for Medical Advice Telegrams.
