Tho New Zealand rowers were afloat yesterday, practising for Saturday's regatta. They impressed as a. particularly strong crew. The scullers, Smith and Abbott, also made a favourable impression. Smith is likely to ex-
tend Turner, tho Australian champion. Heavy rain has swollen the Yarra course, but the-strong current did not affect the Now Zealanders, who said they were accustomed to such conditions.
