Temperatures will bo mild. The anticyclone is at last moving away eastward, its centre this morning being to tho east of tho Chatham Islands. A deep depression advancing across tho Tasman Sea has caused northerly winds to freshen somewhat about and to the south of Cook Strait, but ovor the northern half of the North Island winds have continued to bo rather variable in direction, Fine weather has been general, with a few light and isolated showers in western districts, and temperatures have been mild to warm. Auckland is having a continuance of fine weather with a light south-westerly wind. Wellington had a brilliantly fine and warm day yesterday, 12.2 hours of bright sunshine being recorded. Tho wind was a light northerly breeze, but this freshened early this morning 'ami skies clouded over. JOxcept for a brief interval of sun.shine about noon, Christchureh had dull weather yesterday with a fresh wind from the north-east. The weather i cleared early this morning, however. Punedin has had fino and clear weather with a fresh uorth-eastp.rly breeze.
