FOUR HAWERA RUNNERS

(Special From "Limited.")

HAWERA, This Day

Cynical Kid and Flower Bag returned fivi'n the Waikato Hunt Club's Meeting on Wednesday. Flower Bag received a kick in her race which caused a slight filling, but the injury is not likely to interfere with his preparation for the steeplechase events at Ellerslie at Christmas. Cynical Kid fulfilled expectations and returned in great shape. Although beaten in the bracelet event at his second start, he is susceptible of much improvement yet, and more is going to be heard from him. Gold Gleam, Beau Star, Arouse, and Benedictine were hooked to leave today to take part at the Rangitikei Meeting tomorrow.

Beau Star ran ;i good race at Wavcv ley, just failing over the last bit, mul be should again run prominently. Hi. Sullivan will probably have the mount, \V. Ovindlny having linen engaged for No Httmhti;.' The latter was kept a lony way back in the early stages of her race at Wavcrley, and she may be. harder to boot tomorrow." Both Gold Gleam and Benedictine will be improved by their racing, and Gold Gleam especially can confidently be expected to make a good showing. J. Brown's GraudKnight gelding Arouse is to face the barrier for the first time since his ill-fated start in the Great Northern Foal Stakes as a two-year-old. He has crown into a solid-looking horse, and as he has been doing good track work he must bo given a show among the maidenclass horses.

At Waverley Carfex ran his usualhonest race without having any chance with the winner. Korokio. He is not a whit the worse for his outing ami in a day or two will be sent along with a view to meeting his Avondale engagements. Mr. F. S. Easton's two-year-old Fairfax •s also to fulfil her Avondale Stakes encasement. Since returning from her Auckland trip the filly has been sprinted three furlongs, which she accomplished very nicely in 37soc.
