£500,000 AUTHORISED
Authority for expenditure out of tho Public Works Fund for tho rehabilitation of the dairy industry is the main financial provision of tho Bill, which, by way of immediate relief, provides for an aggregate outlay of £500,000 for tho romaindor of tho current financial year. Apparently tho projected rating and interest reduction relief is to bo dealt with in another Bill.
Uncle rthe relevant section of the Emergency Powers Bill, tho Public Works Fund may bo called on from time to time, on terms and conditions proscribed by; the Minister of Finance, to
pay such sums as Parliament appropriates for tho construction, reconstruction, equipment, and improvement of daily factories, securing improved conditions in and about dairies, the eradication of disease in dairy herds, and any other purposes for which grants or loans may Ibe required to give effect to the roi'om- ! rnrndations of tho Dairy Commission.
