ITALIAN CRUISER

VISIT TO WELLINGTON

The Italian cruiser Armando Diaz is to visit Wellington next month. She is due to arrive on November 16, and will be in port until November 22. The Wellington Harbour Board decided last night to extend to the officers and crew o£ the ship all the courtesies and also the facilities which have been usual in the past.

The chairman (Mr. T. R. Barrer) said he thought the board should do all it possibly could to make the visit both profitable and enjoyable for the oHi certs nnd men. If it was possible for the board to do anything to promote the spirit of internationalism it was the function of the board to do it. He hoped that members of the board would endeavour to be present at any courtesy calls that were made.

Other members of the board endorsed the sentiments expressed by the chairman.
