In the final of the C grade, between J. Y. Dixon and S. G. Savage, both contestants were first-year golfers and very keen. At the turn Dixon was 1 up, and went on to win by 5 and 3. Last Saturday a stroke competition was played, the best card being returned by P. Gunson. , TT . The four new holes at Westward Ho! opened for play about two weeks ago. In the ladies' division the stroke competition played last Saturday was won by Miss Read. , ~ In the semi-finals of the handicap competition, Miss Hargrcaves beat Miss Mayo, 4 and 3 and Mrs. AY. Smith beat Mrs. Green, 5 and 4. The final will be played next weekend.
