TODAY'S PROCEEDINGS

LEGISLATIVE COUNCIL

The Legislative Council met at ~.'M p.m. today. . Tho Mines Committee reported back the Mining Amendment Bill without' amendment. In moving the second reading of the Mining Amendment Bill the Leader of the Council (the Hon. R. Masters) said that the measure had met with the general approval of those engaged in tho industry. In the deliberations of the Select Committee which had considered tho Bill this inorning they had had tho helpful advice of thn Hon. G. J. Anderson, who had been Minister of Mines for several years.
