FAVOURABLE FORECAST

Special forecast for Wellington:— Moderate to fresh north-westerly.. winds. Weather fine and mild, although cloudy at times. The general forecast issued at noon | today is for variable winds to the north of Now Plymouth and Castlepoint. Elsewhere winds will bo westerly to northerly in direction and light to modorate in force generally, although fresh, at times about Cook and Povotvux Straits. The weather will bo fair to fino generally with mild temperatures, although a few isolated showers are probable iv tho western and far southern districts of the South Islund. An intense anticyclone still covers the Tasman Sea and the Now Zealand area, henco the weather has remainod fine and mild ia most parts of the Dominion. Somo showers, howevor, have fallen in tho far south and also in a few places on the West Coast owing to tho passage in the south of a slight low pressuro wave. Auckland's weather has been fair, although oloudy at times, with a northeasterly breeze. The weather this morning was cloar with a light southwesterly wind. Wellington enjoyed a perfect day of uninterrupted sunshine, 12.5 hours boing recorded. Tho wind was a light northerly. This morning's weather was overcast with a rather fresh north-west-erly wind. Cliristchurch had a fino day with ti strong north-easterly wind and passing cloud. Conditions there have been overcast since last night, the wind this morning being a very light ono from the north-east. Dunedin had a fine and sunny day with a light northerly wind.
