THE MAYOR'S REPLY
The following reply to Mr. Berry s statemont has been made by tho Mayor of Eastbourne (Mr. E. \V. Wise-):—"I think Councillor Berry is taking himself and Ms actions too seriously. Thero has been and will be ample opportunity for him to bring forward any matter which he considers of moment to the borough. Thero was no question of suppression b£ the material <of his report Full opportunity was- afforded to. Councillor Berry to bring forward any or all of it in the. discussion on the Town Clerk's report. In the meantime, the council, in full possession of the facts, having seen fit to censure him, why does he not take his medicine like a man? "Regarding his attack on me personally, I have nothing to say. "I leave the fairness : or otherwise of this to those most qualified to judge the other members of the council."
