PIGEON RACING
TJie I'etono Homing Club flew its weekly race on Saturday from Taumarumii, an airline distance of 104 miles. The birdu were liberated by the stationmaster in fine weather at 10.30 a.m., and they must have run into bad weather en route, as they were well over four hours on the way. Only a. few birds were able to get through in the first bunch.
The following were the first eight placings:—
Bold and Son's Black Mom (velocity 1100.1 yards per minute), 1; C.! Culshaw's B.C.C. (1095.7). 2: J. Bolton's Sun Pride (1083.71), 3; J. Bolton's Sun Spark (1083.37), 4; G. Woodward's Queenie (1082.98), 5; P. Mexted's Eed Fern (1082.96), 0; Bold and Son's Miss Ava (1081.59), 7; G. Woodward's Royal Star (1079), 8. The next races will he flown from Frankton and Ctilverden.
