SYDNEY WOOL SALES

United Press Association—By Electric Tele-

graph—Copyright. (Received October 20, 11 a.m.)

, SYDNEY, This Day. The "Sydney Morning Herald's" wool letter states that there is an improved stability in wool values and more general acceptance by growers of the ruling prices. This was shown by the sale at auction of 89 per cent, of the offerings at this week's Sydney sales. Prices generally were firm. ■ .-/'■) Whilst there is no reason for elation regarding ruling prices, some degree _of satisfaction must be expressed respecting the more active general buying as compared with earlier in the season, and the fact that values moved slightly upward, compared with September. A rise of 25 to 30 pec cent, in values, however, is necessary to bring the returns on to a reasonably satisfactory'level tor Australian growers.
