WAIKATO HUNT CLUB

PROSPECTS FOR MONDAY

(Special from "Early Bird.")

AUCKLAND, This Day. One of the most important hunt club meetings of tlie season is the Wnikato Hunt Olub's Annual Mooting at Cambridge. Fields for this year's fixture oil Monday are first-class, and they contain morn outside horses than usual, winch -will make for more interesting sport. The AVaikato Hunt Cup has attracted the usual smart Held of 'chasers of all kinds. Flower Bag is nicely placed, for he was a shade unlucky the first day at Ellerslie and on the second day his gear broke when he was travelling like a winner five fences from home. He has his big chance here to make amends. Another ■southerner in Cardhu is going to play his part well, for he chased Flower Bag (these two jumpers are half-brothers) home at New Plymouth. St. Warrigal, Mia Stella, Euby Meteor, Golden England, Lucess, Capella Abbey, and Allegretto complete a fine field. The form in this event will be closely followed in view of the valuable steeplechase races to be staged at Ellerslie next month by the Takapmia Club and by the A.E.C. at Christmas. The Members' Memorial Handicap has drawn a small but select field, and on Ellerslie running Lord Val must be hard to beat if he runs true to form, especially after nil the rain that fell in the province this week. Tradesman's fine effort each day at Ellerslie should make him hard to boat in the sprint with all liis weight. Win-aud-pkce betting will be the system adopted on Monday. Form horses for the meeting axe as follows: — 12.0: Farmers' Steeplechase—Bamba and Bells of Bow. 12.43: Hunters' Hurdles—Sandy Dix, Glenade, and Valpai. 1.29: Bardowie Handicap—Lady Diana, Engi, and Grand City. . 2.12: Members' Memorial—Lord Val, Master Norval, and the Musquil-Protomint bracket. 2.57: AVaikato Hunt Cup—Flower Bag, Cardhu, and Golden England. 3.43: Bruntwood Hack—Adeline, Engi, and Lapstone. 4.29: Ladies' Bracelet—Marching Song, Gastronomy, and Cynical Kid. 5.15: Bollard Memorial HandicapTradesman, Prqlyxo, and Sinking Fund.
