One matter which for some tinio past has caused the Wellington Centre and also individual officials deep concern is that the combined primary school gathering, once a feature of each year's activities, has been dropped by the school authorities. The centre has made overtures from time to time in an endeavour to have that big gathering reinstated, but so far without success. Happily the seeondai'3r school officials view the matter of a combined meeting in a different light, and few who have attended, tho annual secondary schools' athletic, championship meeting have failed to appreciate the fine stamp of the competitors and the high standard of thrir achievement.
