SWIMMING
PETONE CLUB The annual general meeting of the Pptone Swimming and Life-saving Club was held last evening. Dr. J. G. Harding presided. Dr. Harding stated that a shield for competition.between the Hutt Valley Club and the Petone Club had been donated by the medical practitioners of the Hutt Valley. It was decided that a letter of thanks be forwarded to the donors. The annual report expressed thanks for donations received from Dr. J. G. Harding, Miss Wood, Mrs. E. McAdam, and Messrs. H. Firth, A. Henry, P. MeConville, W. P. Coles, E. Cleland, J. M. Cleland, and. H. Oakley. A' set of rules was adopted by the club, and the subscription fees were fixed at 2s (kl for members! over 17, Is Gd for those under 17 and over 14, and Is for juniors under 14. It was decided to elect as honorary junior members children who obtained school certificates for 880 yds. The following officers were elected:— Patron, Mr. W. Nash, M.P.; president, Dr. J. G. Harding; vice-presidents, Messrs. J. C. Burna, F. Price, A. McFadyen, H. Firth, and J. E. Carey; hon. secretary, Mr. E. Cleland; hon. treasurer, Mr. A. Henry; committee, Mrs. L. McAdam, Miss L. Wood, and Messrs. P. McConville, E. Fisher,, and H. Oakley; delegate to Wellington Centre, Mr. j. M. Cleland; hon. auditor, Mr. C. L. McAdam; captain, Mr. J. M. Cleland; vice-captain, Mr. P. McConville.
