ACTION AGAINST MINISTER

USE OF POWER COMMISSION'S

FUNDS

TOHONTO, October 16.

Mr. 'I. Stewart Lyon, chairman o<f tno Ontario Hydro-Electric Power Conir mission., said tonight that the Commiasioners had adopted a resolution thai action bo entered against tho Kt. Hon.. Arthur Meiglien, a member of the Dominion Cabinet, and Mr. T. A. Mnguire^ former Commissioners, and two former officials, for the return of money "illeg--ally diverted from the funds of tho Commission."

The text of documents found in the Commission' 3 files, Mr. Lyon said, revealed that a former Commission hired detectives to "get something on the Liberal Party of Ontario." The expenses of the detectives and fees, he said, totalled 4300 dollars.

. The action for tho recovery of the money, Mi". Lyon 'said, would be against tho chief engineer, Mr. Fred A. Gaby, and tho Commission's solicitor, Mr. Isaac B. Lucas, in addition to Messrs. Meighen and Maguire.
