KOTEMAORI MEETING

A very enjoyable time was speut at the Kotemaori Hall recently, the occasion, being the forming of the Kotemaori Women's Institute.

Mrs. Riggir, voluntary organiser, explained the aims and objects of the movement.

Miss Monteath (convener) when introducing Mrs. Riggir, asked her to accept a posy of pansies, the W.I. emblem. Posies were also presented to Mrs. Baker and Mrs. Osborne, members of the executive.

Miss MacMicheal, president, oi; the Twyford W. 1., displayed a very fine collection of handicraft work, which was greatly admired by all present. An outstanding exhibit was a beautifullyworked cloth, a gift to the Twyford W.I. from their overseas link.

A dainty afternoon tea was dispensed by the hostesses, Mesdames Monteath, Moran, and Jones.

The election of officers resulted as follows: —President, Miss Monteath; vice-president, Mrs. C. Bee; secretary, Mts. MacMillan; treasurer, Mrs. Harris; committee, Mesdam.es S. Jones, L. Jones, C. H. Moran, T. Gavin, and R. Climo.

In closing, Miss Monteath moved a hearty vote of thanks to Mrs. Riggir, and also to Mesdamcs Baker and Osborno and Miss MacMichcal. which was carried by acclamation.

The competition for tho best plato of scones was won \>y Miss Monteath, Mrs. Monteath being second, and for tho best pikelets by Mrs. Harris, Mrs. Mackay being runner up. The singing of tho National Anthem brought a very enjoyable meeting to a close.
