LOCAL BODY VACANCY
MASTERTON APPOINTMENT

MASTERTON. This Day
it was reported at last, night's meeting of tho Masterton Borough Council that Mr. E. R. Rogers, of Essex Street, had been co-opted to fill the extraordinary vacancy on the council caused by the death of the late Councillor H. .1. O'Lctiry. Mr. Rogers is secretary for New Zealand for the well-known meat firm of Messrs. T. Borthwick and Sons, Ltd. He is stated to have had some experience of local body work in Christchurch. The Mayor, Mr. T. ."lonian, said that the council was very fortunate to secure a, man of such ability as Mr. Rogers.
Mr. Rogers was appointed to (he gas and abattoir committee.
