There-was a, stir at tho meeting held in the Labour Hall, Potone, last evening when sharp words passed between. Mr. K. Semple, M.P., and one of tho audience.

From time to time during the evening comments were made- from the floor of the hall at various remarks made by the speakers, and one remark annoyed Mr. Semple when he was referring to the fight the Labour Party was putting up on behalf of the relief workers. "That man down there," said Mr. Semple, pointing to an interjector, "hasn't got tho courage to defend a currant on a bun from a blowfly."

The meeting rocked with laughter at this sally.

When the interjector protested Mr. Semple called him a "blowfly."

"You're a class traitor," yelled back the interjector.

"Yon call me a traitor and I'll conm down and punch you on the nose," threatened Mr. Somplp.

"Come down and do it." said tho interjector, rising to his feet.

The meeting by this time was in an uproar, but after the chairman liafi called "order" several times calm wa.t restored and the meeting proceeded smoothly.
