"MERRIE ENGLAND."

Under the direction of Mr. Stanley Oliver, the Koyal Choral Union on Thursday evening next at the Town Hall will present Sir Edward German's melodious opera "Merrie England," as well as the first movement of Vanghau Williams's "A Sea Symphony" and a choral fantasia on Wagner's grand opera "The Meistersingers." A very successful iehear.sal was held last evening, and everything points to an outstanding concert. The cast of soloists is as follows:—Soprano, Miss Zell O'lvane; contralto, Miss Christina Young; tenor, Mr. Harold J?rescott, 'of Greymoulh; and baritone, Mr. Ray Kemp. The final rehearsal will take place at the Town Hall at 7.30 tomorrow night. The box plan can be inspected at the D.1.C., where a supply of Is tickets will be available from tomorrow.
