HARM TO OWNERS

(By Telegraph—Press Association.)

AUCKLAND, October 13,

"The theft of motor-cars is a very prevalent offence," said his Honour. "It does a great deal of harm to owners, because their cars are generally ruined through the ill-usage they get. It seems to me that in the public interest 1 must mtlict v sentence that will act as a. deterrent. The sentence of the Court is that, you be detained for I reformative treatment for a period not exceeding IS months, the sentences to be concurrent."
