BREEDING PRODUCERS

PERFECT LEG OF MUTTON

RAM FROM CONNECTICUT

(Received October 15, 2 p.m.)

LONDON, October 14.

| The animal breeding station at Cambridge University SchooL of Agriculture today is importing a ram from Connecticut which is destined to be the father of perfect producers of legs o£ mutton. Th.c progenitor of the ram was a short-legged sport thrown up in Norway, by chance belonging to a breed similar to Cheviots. Ono of these rams was sent to Mr. Storr's Agricultural Station, in. Connecticut and he commenced breeding shortlegged creatures which the Cambridge School has decided to mate with Suffolk cross ewes. They believe they will thus produce perfect legs of mutton, succulent, tender, short, and thick, with little knuckle to dry up in cooking.
