YOUNG WOMAN MISSING

Miss Freda Thompson, of Melbourne, intends leaving today from Lympne for Australia in her new specially-buTlt Moth with a Gipsy Major engine. She intends following Miss Batten's route. "If conditions aro favourable I may attempt to beat her record," she said.

RUGBY, September 28. Miss Freda Thompson, of Melbourne, left Lympne at 10.37 this morning in a Gipsy Major aeroplane in an attempt to fly to Australia.
(Received September 29, noon.) LONDON, September 28. No news had been received up to-11.30 p.m. of Freda Thompson. Her mother awaits tidings at a London hotel.
