CHURCH ANNIVERSARY
The Island Bay Baptist Church this week celebrated its twenty-first anniversary. The church was started with seventeen members.' Last year the membership was 73, and, this year.it is 00. The averago- attendance ot morning and evening service on Sundays, during' the past year has been 80, and the year closed with a credit balance in the general account, from which £10 has been allocated to inaugurate a church building extension
fund. . , The'anniversary 'was. celebrated last Thursday -with .a tea and social gathering. During the evening the "Rev. 11. Boulton Smith, of the Vivian Street Baptist Church, gave an interesting address. The eYioir, under the' leadership bf Mr. H. L. Wilson, sang several anthema and the Misses Vivian gave.several trios, unaccompanied. During tea-time a very hearty welcome was tendered to-Miss Brndftelcl, who arrived this week on furlough from the New Zealand Baptist mission station in East Bengal. * ■' •
