ROUND TABLE'S DEATH
Round Table, who dropped dead on the Eandwick tracks on Thursday, was one of the horses taken over to Australia recently by the Hawera trainer O. Cox, in whose colours he raced. Last season he looked the makings of a promising sort ot stayer, but he had failed to recover form this season prior to his death. Round Table was a, four-year-old bay gelding by Grandcourt from the Finland —Warscare mare Table Talk, so that he I was a full-brother to High Falutin'. The family to which he belonged was the same notable one> as produced- Bobrikoff, Gascony, Second Wind, Great Charter, etc. He was bred at the Okawa Stud by Mr. T. H. Lowry, who sent him down to the 1032 Trentliam sales, where he was sold for 45 guineas. He had only one •start as a two-year-old, but last season he was successful in two of his dozen races, and placed in others. His wins were achieved in the Trial Plate at Trentliam in January and in the Nolan Hack Handicap at Hawera the following month.
