SCHOOLBOY'S SLEEVELESS

PULLOVER

This sleeveless cable stitch pullover with round nock, measures 32 inches all around at under arms, and the length from the shoulder to the lower edge is '20 inches.

The directions suggest tlio. use of Heather Mixture of brown and fawn for the jumper and plain- brown for the stripes. But the young schoolboy would bo delighted with one knitted in cream wool with- the stripes in royal blue or maroon, for. wear with his first pair of long cream trousers. Materials! Sfex ounces of 4-ply wool in a heather mixture of brown and fawn, loz of plain brown 4-ply wool, one pair of No. 12 and No. 8 knitting needles, and a spare needle with points at both ends.

The Back: Using No. 12 needles, east on 114 stitches, with mixture woo]. Proceed to work in rib of k 1, p 1, for 18 rows. Break off mixture and join in brown. Work in rib for four rows. Break off browa and join, in mixture; work in rib for four rows.

To Make ub Pullover. —Press on wrong side with hot iron and damp cloth. Sew up right shoulder seam. Now using No. Ineedles and mixture wool, knit up 154 stitches around the neck edge, with the right side of work facing you. Knit well into • edge of work so as to make a neat join. Proceed to work in rib. of k 1, P 1. for five rows. Break off mixture and join in brown wool; work in rib for two rows. Break off brown and join in mixture wool: work in rib for two rows. Isow with, tha right side of work facing you, and usingl No. 12 needles and mixture wool, knit up 126 stitches around the ; armhole edge.
