DOMINION DAIRY INDUSTRY.
Wrt from the fall in prices the results of the past season must be considered highly satisfactory, states the "New Zealand Dairyman." Outputs were every thin" that could be desired, and fair progress may be claimed in the matter ot quality, particularly as. far as cheese is concerned. The abolishing of standardised milk cheese has now been proved to have been a step in the right direction, and the nest problem to be solved is openness in cheese, which we feel sure is only a matter of time and research. . So far, the current season promises well, but nobody can tell as to what' the future may have in store for New Zealand; dairy farmers. Material improvements in prices are almost out of the 'question, and the only hope lies in a reduced cost of production. Great strides have, no doubt, already been made in this direction, but a point lias been reached where outside help is required if the industry is again to enjoy even a semblance of its former prosperity.
