"VIEWS NOT SOUGHT OR
OFFERED"
The attention of the executive of tho Council of the British Medical Association has been drawn to the reported statements of responsible members of Parliament in the House of Representatives to the effect that "the proposal to limit the number of students had come from the British Medical Assoeiatiou from men who wanted to make tho medical service a select preserve"—and that —"I understand that the Medical Association, has recommended "the restriction of students."
These statements, the council states, are entirely erroneous. AVhatever tho merits of the proposal, the views of tho association-have never been sought or offered. The association is naturally very definitely interested in a matter which concerns tho interests of members of tho profession which it represents, but, not being in possession of the facts of the case, it has not discussed tho question, and no recommendation whatever has been made.
