FOUR-YEAR TERMS
PRISONERS SENTENCED
Stating that he was not going to put the country to the expense of continually arresting him, Mr. Justice Ostler, in addition to imposing a .sentence oi four years' imprisonment with hard labour, declared Harold James Williams an-nabi-, tual criminal in the Supreme Court today. Williams appeared for sentence with -Arthur George Hugh Hughes on a charge of breaking, entering, and theft. _ Hughes received a similar ■ term of imprisonment and was warned;that he was rapidly qualifying to be declared an habitual criminal. His Honour said he would give him one more chance. .
Gratification was expressed by members of the Wellington Technical College Board of Governors lost night at the clause in the directors' report -which stated that since the beginning of the year 133 boys and 37 girls had been placed in positions in industry from the college.
