FORGERY CHARGE
PROBATION GRANTED
Probation was recommended by the Prosentence on a charge o£ forgery his Honour acted on the recommendation. Jiach was admitted to probation for two years, subject to the payment of the costs ot the prosecution within oiie month. O'Connor and Watterston had pleaded ■niilty iv the' Petone Court to forging an application form for the1 registration, of a motor vehicle. It was pointed out that the object of the forgery was to save £1 in registration fees.
The net profit from the Lower Hutt Movie Masquerade Ball was published incorrectly in yesterday's 'i "Post." The actual profit was £50 6s. -which will be divided equally between the Mayor's Relief Fund and the Bed Cross Society.
Whist for money 'prizes is played by more than 200,000 persons every week in London.
