NGAHOA CLUB

. The-first annual meeting of the Ngahoa Tennis Club (Rongotai College courts) was held at the college. There was a large attendance of members.

Captain Burge, president of the Rongotai College Parents' Association, .welcomed the new club and outlined the reasons and aims of the Parents' Association taki:i« over the courtsl on the Te Kama Club relinquishing them because it has leased ground elsewhere.

' The election of officers resulted as follows:—President, Mr. V. Martyn Eenner: vice-presidents. Messrs.. R. Semple, M.P.. R. A. Wright, M.P., E. S. Moss, \V. J. Gaudin, and F. X Spackman; honorary secretary, and treasurer. Mr G A. Bell; club captain, Mr. T. A. Bingley; management committee Mesdames Wilson, Belt, and Scott; Messrs. Killick. Bell (Parents' Association), and two members of the Rongotai College Old Boys' Associa tion to be elected; club committee elected (pro tern). Misses N. K.nox and L. Richardson, Mesdames Scott, Beh and Mi. Fathers; official coach. Mr Jacobsen; delegates to Wellington Lawn Tennis Association. Messrs Bingley and Beli It was resolved that the club would oe affiliated with-the Wellington Lawn Tennis Association and that the question >f teams.for the inter-ciub competitions o<3 left ovei until after the opening of the season, but members and intending mem bers were assured that teams representing the club .would be entered. i The following resolution was carried unanimously:—"That this club support the efforts of the other clubs who are endeavouring to have the affiliation fees reduced from 2s 6d to Is per member, thus trying to bring the tennis control under one' body." ' , The opening day was fixed for Saturday, September 20.
