HIDES AND SKINS.

Values for hides were par to a, shad« firmer at the fortnightly sale held by Auckland brokers on Tuesday. Sheepskins were easier in price as a lesult o£ lower values overseas.

Prices foi1 best grades were:—

Hides.—Ox (abattoirs), heavy, 5%d to 6d per lb; medium, 4%d to sd; light, 4d to 4Ud; ox (country butchers), heavy, oVid to 5%d; medium, i*M to sd; light, 3%d to 4d; cow (abattoirs), heavy, light, and medium, 3%d to 4d; cow- (country butchers), heavy, 3y*d to 3 3-8 d; light and medium, 3%d to 3i4d; farmers, all weights, 2d to 3d; yearlings (abattoirs), heavy, aid to 5%d; light, 6%d to VM; yeaiiings, second grade, 3d to 3%d; cut and faulty, l%d to 2%d. Calfskins; 41b to 51b, firsts, (pAd to 6V4d; under 41b, od to SVkl;, Gib 'to 81b, firsts, 6%d to 7d; seconds and cut, 5d to oMd; slippy, 2d to 3%d.
