WORLD PEACE
EDUCATION OF YOUTH
A remit, "That the present critical world situation demands that all. sup.porters of the League of Nations should pursue with increased vigour education towards peace to counteract education of a warlike nature,',* was passed yesterday afternoon at the annual conference of the Now' Zealand League of Nations Union. "
The Dominion council is to be ..asked to formulate a scheme suitable, for adoption, by all branches for organised intellectual co-operation with the various youth movements with a view to stimulating interest in the League of Nations. ;
It was decided to urge branches to havo more attention paid in their activities 'to an examination of *the economic causes of war.
The conference ' agreed that the various education boards should be approached for permission for representatives of the union, subject to the approval of headmasters, to enter schools and give addresses on the work of the League of Nations.
Among other remits passed was the following:—"That tlie Dominion .council . appi'oaeh the representative heads of the various religious denominations with regard to the establishment of a Dominion League of Nations Sunday, on which day in every. place of worship sermons could be preached on the cause of international peace and the principles of tho League of Nations expounded."
