MEN'S HOCKEY TEST

CHEISTCHURCH, September. 5. .: Mr. W. H. Down has been nominated by the Australian hockey team as the second umpire for the. hockey Test at Dunedin on Saturday, and the nomination has beeri approved by the executive of the New..Zealand: Association.
At a of. the Horowhenua Hockey Association on Tuesday night, letters wore received from the Ne,w Zealand Hockey Association and the Wellington Hockey Association congratulating the Horowhenua- Association on the success 'that attended its efforts in connection with the visit of the Australians. Both bodies were loud in their praise. As a result of the match the Horowhenua Association emerged with a splendid credit balance and lias refunded all money advanced by clubs towards, the guarantee. The president (Mr. Nicolson) nnd the secretary (Mr. Witchcll) were accorded thanks for their work in connection with the Australian visit.
