ARTESIAN SUPPLY
MASTERTON INVESTIGATES
(By Telegrapn) (Special to the "Evening Post.")
MASTERTON, This Day
■Investigations are at present being made with a view to augmenting Masterton'.s water supply by an artesian bore. Tho proposals arc of considerable importance, as it is possible that if a sufficient flow of water is obtained by this means the shortage experienced ill the summer months may be overcome.
The borough engineer (Mr. C. E. Mabson) is making inquiries into the proposals, and is preparing a report for .submission to tho Borough Council. Yesterday a water diviner was engaged to locate possible sources for an artesian supply. Several were- found, including one considered to be of good dimensions on the gasworks section, near tho railways line, and others on a trust section near tho fish hatcheries, and some more adjacent to tho Lansdowny Reservoir.
