FARMERS' FREEZING COMPANY
A record production of dairy produce in the Auckland Province is revealed in the thirtieth annual report of the Auckland Farmers' Freezing Company, Limited, for the year ended June 30. In addition, a new high level was attained in the lulling of pigs. The net profit for the year was £24,123, showing an increase of £7508. The killings of cattle were the highest since 1916, when 47,600 were handled, the increase over last year being nearly 9 per cent. Pig killings totalled 165,688, and exceeded those of a year ago by over 45,000. Lambs and sheep1 were killed in decreased numbers, the difference being less than 20,000 in the case of lambs, while the sheep killings were about 42 per cent, of those of last year and less than one-third of those in 1932. Bobby calves showed a very substantial increase, reaching the record figure of 270,897, while vealers were killed in much reduced numbers. The records for butter and cheese established last year were exceeded, the increase being nearly 9 per cent, and 2 per cent, respectively.' Including £5540 brought forward, £29,603 is available. Of this the directors propose to place £10,000 to general reserve, leaving £14,361 for distribution, as against £14,663 last year. They recommend the usual • dividend of 6 per ceint., .leaving £5302 to be carried forward.
