AWARD RESCINDED

WORKERS AT LYSAGHT'S

BREACH OF UNDERTAKING

SYDNEY, September 3. Describing the stoppage of work at Lysaght's factory at Newcastle as a breach of an undertaking by the employees that work would continue without interruption, Mr. Justice Cantor, of the Industrial Commission, today rescinded the award which is applicable to the ironworkers' section of the factory. Counsel for Messrs. Lysaghts stated that the strike meant that huge consignments of galvanised iron would have to be lironght from England to enable them to keep faith with customers owing to tho exceptionally heavy demands on local mills.
