TOKIO TRAMS AND BUSES
EMPLOYEES AND WAGE CUTS
TOKIO, September 3,
Tokio faces a complete tram and bus stoppage on Tuesday, following the city's discharge of all tramway employees with the option of re-engagement.
Many salaries have been reduced by nearly half, and conductors have been offered 49 yen monthly instead of 105, and motormen 00, compared with 109.
The services arc losing heavily. Ten thousand men are affected.
