BOXING CHAMPIONSHIPS.
Probably no other centre in New Zealand is as well equipped with boxing gymnasiums as is Wellington and the best of the amateurs from the local training schools will be seen in action at the Town Hall tonight and tomorrow night, when the 1934 championships will be decided. As a record number of entries (over 50) have been received, there will be two full programmes, and each bout can be denended upon to be full of action. The following are the present holders of the tt'itles (the gymnasiums to which they belonged, last year are given in parentheses):—Paperweight, H. Kelly (Newtown); flyweight, H. Allott (Miramar); bantamweight,- L. Lnrsen (Newtown); featherweight, E. Wood (Miramar); lightweight, T. Corbin (Newtown); welterweight, J. B. Kent (Crowley's); middleweight, J. Mansfield (Crawford's); lighb-heavyweight, J. Ford (Miramar); heavyweight, vacant. Tonight's programme will commence at 7.30 p.m.
