TRIALS OF THE SUSSEX
SATISFACTORY WORK
LONDON, August 24.
The trials of the cruiser Susses were commenced on July 28 and included a two hours' full-speed run (in' which the cruiser easily exceeded 30 knots), gun and wireless trials, and routine exercises. i
A guest of Captain Bonham-Carter who was on board from Portland to Sheerness thoroughly inspected the.ship and was greatly impressed. He says tho Sussex is as spick and span as any ship in the Navy. ; . ■ ■
In addition to Captain Bonham-Car-ter, who served in Australia, tho principal medical officer and the gunnery lieutenant served in New Zealand.-
There is no special accommodation for the Duke of Gloucester, but, as the Sussex was built, fora flagship, he will occupy the Admiral's suite. This comprises a bay cabin, a dining cabin, and a sleeping cabin and a bathroom, which his staff have already inspected. ■ This suite is precisely similar to those in the Canberra and the Australia.
No special arrangements have been niado ,for games on board.
