By defeating Petone on Saturday to the tune of a goals to nil. Hospital have etrcngthened thek- position at, the head of the local Aesociation ..football senior championship. Marist, who scored a victory over Lower Hntt, uvo in second place, and, with another game to play, they have an opportunity oi'' drawing level with the present leaders next Sntuiday.i Playing against a depicted Waterside team, Nada gained their first wiu in the,championship competition this season by 7 goals .to nil. Matches were contested in a strong southerly wind, which gave little scope for good football and robbed the games of_ a good deal of interest.

I Hospital's victory, was a deserved one. in the first 6pell their defence held sound ! against repeated Petone attacks and there ivas no score at the interval. Aided-by the wind in the second half, Hospital soon forged ahead and completely dominated play. Five of the regular, men were absent from the Waterside team in the game against JCada, and the latter side gained a convincing win without a great deal of difficulty. Slarist beat Lower Hutfc by 5 goals to 3 in a fair game on the Basin Reserve, both sides failing the effect of the wind. Lower Hutt were a man short.
