RUAPEHU CLUB SPORTS

After a postponement on Saturday owing to snow and high wind, the Ruapehu Ski Club's winter sports carnival was continued at Mount Ruapohu yesterday. T. W. Mitchell, the Australian champion, and South Island skiers competed in the open oVents in preparation for the New Zealand championships, commencing today. Tho Ruapehu Sid Club championships wero decided on the result of the open event.

Provisional results announced this morning aro as follows: — Women's down-hill open: Miss P. Murphy (Ruapchn Ski Club), 3min Bsec, 1; Miss .T. Murphy (Ruapehu Ski Club), and Mrs. A. B. Edwards (Christchurch Ski Club), 3min 15sec, 2. Ruapohu Ski Club's women's downhill event: Miss P. Murphy, 1; Miss J. Murphy, 2; Miss M. N. Boyd, 3. Men's down-hill event, open: T. W. Mitchell (Ski Club of Victoria), 9min 27sec, 1; B. E. Murphy (Ruapehu Ski Club), lOmin 9 l-ssec, 3;- R. C. Murie (Ruapehu Ski Club), lOmin 12sec, 3. Ruapehu Ski Club's men's down-hill event: B. E.
