Both teams were successful in winning their games on Saturday afternoon, although Karori A had a close call against University, winning by "v margin of only one goal. Karori B nccounted for Wellington, but had to play hard in the second spell to retain their advantage. The Huia-llutt match, the outcome of which had only a remote bearing on the championship, was won by Huia.

The play-olf between the two Karori teams will probably take place en August 25. Next Saturday Wellington's senior representative eleven will be in Auckland challenging for the New Zealand Shield. A trial match between the shield team and a side selected from the rest of the trainees was played on Saturday, and was won by the Kcst, the score being 3 goals to 1.
