Eay Nieol has been selected as Ambrose Palmer's second opponent at Invercargill, the bout being set down for September 1. There are indications that there will be a bumper house for the Strickland-Palmer fight next Saturday. The booking is very heavy, and specials trains will be running to Invereargill from all districts.
After Hurne's display on' Tuesday night a bout between him and. Dal Costa should prove more attractive to the Wellington public than any contest staged here for a long time. Dal Costa is to meet 1-lurno at Blenheim oil August 25. ,
The Auckland Boxing Association if bringing _ Frank Taylor out. of retirement to meet Dal Costa. v Taylor held the New Zealand professional bantamweight championship some years ago; retiring undefeated, and is one of the cleverest boxers tho Dominion has produced. His last contest was at Denniston four years ago. *
At » meeting of the match committee of the Wellington Boxing Association yesterday afternoon it was decided to enter into negotiations for * bout between Cyril Hurne and an opponent to be selected. The possibility of securing a bout between Clarrie Rayner and Joc> Franklin will also be investigated. , .'
. Felice's first match will be against George Walker at Christchurch on August 14. • No doubt the new man will not bo over-pleased to find himself pitted against the New Zealand champion in this coming bout.
