PIXIE PEOPLE
There's a quieiness in the Ring now that our boisterous fourlooted guests have packed trunks . . . like the quiet of a house when merry voices have left it behind. But that is only for a breathing-space. There are still important guests to be ivelcomcd. Had you forgotten August and the birds? At the very end of the month we shall have our Bird Page. That gives you two weeks to send your work . . . and artist elves . . . please send your pictures with the first mails to the Ring, to be in time fot the Picture Man, who ahvays says "Early, please 1." Now, just take a peep at Hinekoa's corner and read about ilie surprise packets the Letterbox Elf has been finding. Wethought we should never finish exploring Lady Jane's box.^ It ' was exciting and mysterious . . . like having a "lucky dip" all to oneself. . < I wonder how many Ring People ivill come to our "Parcel Afternoon" later in the year. We shall need ever so many pixie fingers to fold browr. paper and to lie knots and gay labels. But not yet . . . Hinekoa's cupboard is elastic-sided and there arc still more corners to be filled. A fairy wish for a magic thinking-cap for everyone ivho doesn't like "exams" and my love to all of you. ■ FAIRIEL
